יOnce upon a time in Jerusalem,
And this time, Sderot Herzl corner Sderot Shazar, 1963.
On the top left are the Nation Buildings, and the road to its left is Sderot Shazar and the entrance to the city from Tel Aviv under today’s string bridge,
And for those who remember, to the left of the nation’s buildings is the pillar of remembrance and the monument.
The road at the bottom of the picture is today’s Sderot Herzl with the light rail axis and this is probably the last chance to see Sderot Herzl without endless traffic jams.
the open area in the middle to the left of the link parking lot,
To the right will later be the Egged parking lot and the building on the right that is under construction is the National Insurance building.
Today’s Hilton, Vert Hotel has not yet been designed, Kiryat Shvarat is not yet in sight,
The boulevard of hotels looks like science fiction, and the gravel hills seem suitable for grazing flocks of sheep.
Today’s life in our city and in the country as a whole is fast, stressful, aggressive, and survivalist.
The photo was taken with great skill by the legendary photographer Yitzhak Saad, the late, only 60 years ago.
Even those who do not believe in miracles cannot help but be amazed at the journey we have gone through in the last sixty years.
Sometimes it comes time to stop, take a deep breath, see where we came from, and recalculate where we all want to go.
In these days, the days between the straits and the three weeks that began on the 17th of Tammuz and will end on Tisha Be’av, we remember the destruction of Jerusalem, the wars of the brothers, and the hatred that led to the destruction and the terrible results of the destruction of the two houses.
We returned to our country after 2,000 years in exile, where we were at the mercy of the freeze, the king, the dictator, and any occasional thug and the option of a Jewish state that would gather the Jews scattered without protection and a home all over the world was a distant dream that few even dared to dream.
In a chilling cycle, we are once again in the middle of the period between the Straits.
The believers among us do not eat meat during the three weeks in memory of the destruction, but we all eat each other during these crazy days,
And for a long time, it doesn’t matter who is right or who started it.
There will be no winners in this fight.
We have built a glorious country together here, a visible miracle,
and our Jerusalem,
A 3,000-year-old city that rose to life, wearing a dress of concrete and cement, and a nation that unites mainly in times of crisis or fighting and is made up of the most talented, best, and creative people in the world.
All of us are currently only losing and in a big way in the internal struggle and the hatred of the brothers that screams from all sides and is mainly fueled by cynical and irresponsible politicians.
We are all in the same boat together.
Instead of beating on the chest of the other by calling our fault
We have betrayed, we should take a look within ourselves, and find the way to the other’s heart because this is the country we built together with sweat, tears, and a lot of precious blood
And we don’t have the privilege of losing (God forbid) for the third time
